Maziyi seyret - Behold the past

Watercolor, 11"x15" $500

or E-mail me.

I took a few liberties with this scene. The white house at the end of the alley has been restored in recent years. The brand-new roof looked a little stark and out of place to me, so I put the old roof back on. Also, I wanted to show the hills in the distance to provide a sense of space, though in reality they are not visible from this point of view.

Glad you took those liberties: This scene is absolutely gorgeous!

I would call it artistic vision rather than taking liberties. You have to make the picture work and have depth. You are so good at painting buildings. Wish I could be half as good.

Isn't it great when we get to the point where we can alter the scene to our vision of the importance and arrangement of the elements?
This is breath taking. Something about the way the light part is shaped is just so strong!!
I love your delicate touch and rich, harmonious colors!
