Pınarbaşı - Fountainhead

Painting of the Day
Watercolor, 7"x5" $100
(Photo reference courtesy of Ahmet Sürücü. Thanks Ahmet).

The last in a series of exercises focusing on the color green, this one utilizing a more subdued palette. I don't know if I've turned from a greenaphobic into a greenaholic yet, but this has been a great learning experience.

Oh, greenaholic and the way this one transitions to the deepest blue is fantastic :) I look forward (with a chuckle) to your next 'problem' area.

You and green became good friends, and this beautiful work is the seal of that friendship :))

Spectacular use of greens. Love it.

This the most incredibly tranquil, peaceful scene - one could get lost in this one, Mineke. So don't stop with the green!

Thank you all so much for your generous words and encouragement.

No new posts for a while, Maggie. I am out of town, but hope to be back in the studio by the end of next week.

I was here to say hello and to ask if is everything ok... I couldn't see any post lately. But I've learnt that you're out of town. I wish you a good trip. I'm forward to seeing your new paintings. Have a great week :)

I thought for sure that I'd left a comment here but things have admittedly been a bit chaotic on my end. These landscapes are so very charming and in keeping with your small Turkish scenes. I love that you have such a steady source of inspiration from your friend Ahmet while you're too far to lay eyes on these scenes yourself. What a beautiful flower of friendship!

Hi Yasemin. Thanks for checking in! I was away for a week, but I'm back now, and hope to post something new very soon.

Hi Suzanne. Thank you for relating the landscapes to my other Turkish scenes. And thank you, on behalf of Ahmet as well, for noticing and appreciating our collaborative efforts. I know I am fortunate indeed.
